Fees and Billing
Depending on numerous circumstances, attorneys bill for their time in one of three ways: hourly, flat fee, and contingency, although sometimes there is a blend of these methods.
Our attorneys usually bill by the hour. Their hourly rates will be made known to you at the time they are retained. Your attorney will explain his hourly rate and what to expect in terms of hours and costs for your case. Your attorney will also explain how we utilize paralegals and their fees. Our paralegals work closely with the attorneys and are often able to handle many tasks for them, saving them time and the client money.
Sometimes a flat fee is more appropriate. If so, that will be quoted in the initial meeting. Your attorney will decide when you meet how much of a retainer is needed to begin work on your case. Because attorney Richard Eddington focuses on representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, his fees are typically contingent upon recovery, meaning that he does not collect a fee unless he obtains an award or settlement for you.
A fee agreement will be required to be completed by the client before work can begin. Bills are sent out once a month. We accept Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express for your convenience.
