I was born and raised in Texas and lived there through high school, then moved to
southern California to attend college. While there, I enjoyed surfing and racing
sailboats. I now enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, skate skiing, wake surfing and
most other outdoor sports.
I moved to Steamboat Springs in 1999 when my oldest son (of three) was beginning high
school to allow them to experience a small town atmosphere. Coaching their soccer,
basketball, and baseball teams was great fun for many years. Steamboat Springs has the
laid-back lifestyle and sports activities which I love.

I dedicate my entire practice to representing individuals in personal injury and wrongful death claims. I have represented injured persons against insurance companies for more than 25 years. Prior to moving to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, I was a partner in my family’s three-office law firm in south Texas, which recovered over $100 million in jury verdicts and settlements for injured victims and decedents' families in the 1990s, including individual jury verdicts of $44.6 million, $11 million, and $7.5 million to name a few.
My philosophy is that an injured individual should never have to pay unreasonably high legal fees to receive high quality legal representation. When you have suffered a personal injury or loss of a loved one, I will make every effort to minimize your out-of-pocket costs while working toward your settlement.

"I've been sued!"
Do not panic but do not procrastinate, either. The Rules of Civil Procedure provide deadlines as to when an answer must be filed. Significant rights can be lost by not filing documents on time or not filing the right documents. You should read the documents you are served closely. Make sure to write down the date and time you were served. This will sometimes determine when your answer must be filed with the court. While you do not have to hire an attorney if you are served as an individual defendant, it is always advisable to call an attorney. Remember, the earlier you call an attorney, the less likely you will be creating chaos by waiting until the last minute.
